Dear all
I am seeking some advice or support with regards to Tesol collections in University Libraries. I have recently been given responsibility for managing the Tesol collection in the Learning Centre at Sheffield Hallam University, and am looking at ways to re-organize the collection with the aim of making locating resources easier for all our students. I would be very interested to hear from any other Universities who have similar collections, with the aim of visiting the collections and speaking to the Librarians in charge if at all possible.
Tesol Collections
At Sheffield Hallam University we have a large Tesol portfolio with two inter-linked programmes : Teacher Education, and English Language Teaching. We have international, distance learners, full time and part time undergraduates and post graduate students. The University academics work closely with the British Council and Trinity College London as the external professional validating bodies.
The Adsetts Learning Centre aims to provide a collection of resources, both in print and in electronic format, to support the many Tesol courses run by the University, such as:
MA/PGDip/PGCert Tesol
Trinity College Certificate
BA (Hons) Languages with Tesol
BA (Hons) Education studies with Tesol
PGCert Teaching English for Academic Purposes
MA English Language Teaching
