APPOINTMENTS IN PSYCHOLOGY
Senior Lectureship Grade: £45,155-£52,347 p.a.
Lectureships Grade: £29,853-£43,840 p.a.
We are seeking to make up to four Lecturer or Senior Lecturer appointments in our School of Psychology, one of the UK’s leading Psychology Departments. The School has an outstanding record of success and was ranked 7th in the UK in research power in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, and 6th for teaching satisfaction in the 2010 National Student Survey.
We particularly seek candidates with interests in cognitive neuroscience (including computational neuroscience), social neuroscience, language, clinical or health psychology, ageing, behaviour change, or developmental psychology. We especially welcome applications from early career researchers. We plan to make several appointments of candidates with experience in using MRI, though we also seek quality applicants with experience in other techniques.
Our purpose-designed psychology building houses the Wolfson Centre for Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience, which has excellent facilities for fMRI, ERP and MRI guided TMS. The School has well-developed systems for accessing special populations, and has excellent links with the National Health Services through the local University Health Board (which is responsible for delivering NHS services throughout North Wales).
The University is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, situated on the North Wales coast between the mountains of Snowdonia and the sea, making it one of the most attractive university cities in the UK. The University is also launching a £35 million Arts and Innovation Centre (Pontio) that has already generated numerous synchronies with Psychology.
