Thank you for the advise!
We tried this, however, via the GUI a text file could not be loaded as file input. Did you mean to do this at the command line? So instead of set feat_files in the design.fsf we would need it to read a text file?
We are looking to combine the components from a number of different group ICA runs together (same subjects, same enforced # of component, just each with a different subject concatenation order) and perform a meta-ICA to see which components are the most consistent and robust across the different runs to end up with components that are independent of subject order.
Since using the melodic_IC.nii.gz from each run did not work, we thought that using the thresh_zstat##.nii.gz for each component across different runs (so if 2 runs, 20 components each, 40 thresh_zstat##.nii.gz representing 40 components) might work. But so far it has not, it is just stalled on our servers.
Or is there a different file format we need to use as inputs for this meta-ICA?
Would it be preferred to concatenate all the run files with fslmerge -t and then load in a single input into melodic for the single session meta-ICA?
Should one enforce the # of resulting components for a meta-ICA when inputs are of this nature, or should one allow melodic to determine the optimal number of components? We have been enforcing in our attempts.
Thank you in advance.
