Just to continue the car club discussion, does anyone know of any
studies investigating how the removal of car parking spaces alters car
ownership and use patterns? Also, any (even anecdotal) ideas about how
different types of removal have different effects?
(e.g. parking replaced with a red route encourages long distance
commuting but is quite easy to get public support, whereas replacement
with car club parking or secure bike parking cues outrage of local
residents but greatly decreases local car ownership/use).
