Hi Emily,
Yes, its a common problem.
Look at it from Wikipedia's point of view.
They are an encyclopedia, but this does not mean they cover all
products and services, just generic items.
So a product or service has to be extraordinary and noteworthy in some
way for it to be allowed.
So Microsoft is on there and is not regarded as an advert because it
is a leader, bigger than others etc.
Whereas they won't allow a home-based software company on there unless
their product is special, and even then it would be the unusual
product which would be described, hopefully within the context of a
generic software page.
I suggest you edit existing pages such as Science Communication,
introducing your service to explain a specific point.
Sadly I think your page is probably doomed.
