Anna,
We will be revisiting publishers' journal lists regularly to identify new and changed journals - the bigger the publisher, the more frequent the visits.
If a journal changes its title, the database will have both the old and the new titles. Of course the revised title should have new ISSNs. However, we're finding that publishers occasionally make mistakes with their ISSNs. We're feeding such errors back to them and/or querying them as appropriate.
If a journal changes publisher, then it should appear under both the old and the new publishers.
In the case of either change, we will endeavour to record the date of the change the notes field, although this is not part of our core remit and is not guaranteed.
Publishers changing name are already handled on a case by case basis. Usually, the name is changed in the core RoMEO record, and we make a note of the old name. This will propagate through to the journals also. Occasionally, such as in the case of rebranding after a takeover, a new record is created for the new name, in addition to the original name. We haven't yet considered what would happen to the journals in such cases, but probably they would appear under both names, again with dates.
I hope this helps.
Peter

Looks interesting ... as you know we're very interested in finding a authority source for journals and publishers for our CRIS.
How do you deal with changes to items in your database eg if a journal changes publisher, journal changes name [or is this a new journal], publisher changes name

This may be confusing, especially where there are different archiving policies for each of the organisations. We are working to improve this situation by eliminating unnecessary information and providing guidance where appropriate.
