The Public Records (Scotland) Bill has been introduced to the Scottish Parliament and was published today by the Scottish Government (SG). The Bill aims to improve the management of public records by named public authorities across Scotland, fulfilling a key recommendation of the Shaw Report 2007 (The Historical Abuse Systemic Review of Residential Schools and Children's Homes in Scotland 1950 to 1995). The text of the Bill and its supporting documents can be viewed on the Scottish Parliament’s website. From the Parliament’s main page go to “current Bills” and click on the link for the Public Records (Scotland) Bill.
