** Apologies for Cross-posting **
Apologies – I omitted to give the subject in my previous email…
UKSG are pleased to announce this event exclusively for the Further
Education sector:
UKSG/JISC Collections E-Resources for Further Education
A one-day seminar for those interested in the day-to-day handling
of e-resources in Further Education Colleges
Monday 6 December 2010
JISC Collections, London WC2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whilst there are similarities between the academic demands placed on both
Higher Education and Further Education libraries with regard to providing
users with appropriate collections of learning materials, the constraints
and challenges in applying this to e-resource provision are quite different.
This seminar will focus specifically on the Further Education sector, and
will address the issues and practicalities of providing and managing
effective high quality
e-resources collections within Further Education libraries, providing an
informative day for anyone involved in the provision of e-resources in FE
libraries. There will be opportunities to hear of best practice case
studies in the fields of purchasing
e-resources and also in marketing techniques and strategies. Similarly,
there will be a chance to find out about usage statistics and performance
indicators and how best to use these to inform your e-resource practices.
The event will also give delegates an opportunity to meet with colleagues in
the FE sector for discussion, problem solving and networking.
NB: Attendance is restricted to those working in the FE sector. Places are
limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
