Good morning.
Thank you very much to those people who responded to my request for
information about tools for tracking the use of hardcopy and electronic
resources. Your response was huge and I've got loads of good leads to
follow-up. Here's a summary.
Free
Mendeley received the most mentions. There's an iphone app for it and
it's available at www.mendeley.com
Zotero was also mentioned by a lot of people. It works with the Firefox
browser and is available at www.zotero.org George Macgregor told me that
he had recently evaluated a range of these resources and found Zotero to
be the best. Thanks George.
Evernote www.evernote.com
Connotea - Apparently this works well with Pubmed and is a reference
manager and social booking tool. www.connotea.org
Cite-u-like www.citeulike.org
Delicious and Librarything were mentioned but they weren't quite what I
was looking for. www.delicious.com and www.librarything.com

Endnote www.endnote.com
Refworks www.refworks.com
Procite www.procite.com
Two of you sent me links to some interesting background reading. Thanks
Geraldine Clement-Stoneham and Steve Mcindoe.
