Dear all 

We think we'd like a method to 'nullify' all the data (esp. the barcode
number) on an exisiting tag, if that is technically possible.

It is possible that, in our mixed counter/self service setup, Safer
Cases for CD's and DVD's with the tag attached to that and not the
physical item may need to be reused (Reservations, Stock Rotation. etc)
and that will mean that the same number could be in circulation on the
tag and on a barcode, which is bad news, and not good practice.

Yes, we could possibly write the barcode down to zeros - but not good.
And other data?

And we could 'blow' the tag (somehow) - but expensive and not desirable.

Thoughts?
