IDE Senior Research Fellow/Nurse (HTA-BGC Project)
Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, an internationally renowned
centre for research and postgraduate education in public health and tropical
medicine, is seeking to recruit a full-time epidemiologist or registered nurse
with research experience to work on our ongoing studies of BCG and
tuberculosis.
The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including
epidemiologists, clinicians and statisticians and be based here and at the
Tuberculosis Section, Centre for Infections, Health Protection Agency,
Colindale, London. The duties will be varied and include managerial
responsibility for the successful conduct of the research, contact with health
professionals and researchers, patients with queries, as well as administrative
responsibility for the day to day running of the studies. Flexibility of hours
worked and travel across England will be expected including training and
supporting colleagues at the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), a
non-profit social and health survey institute who will be recruiting and
interviewing subjects. This position is funded by NIHR HTA.
The successful applicant must possess a nursing degree or a postgraduate
qualification in research methods and show full working knowledge and
proficiency. S/he must also have proven experience of contribution to research
and project management.
The post will be full time for one year in the first instance with the
possibility of renewal or a further one and half years. Salary will be on the
Academic Pathway in the range scale £41,312 - £47,313, inclusive of London
Weighting, per annum and will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions.
