Apologies for cross posting.
The number of reports of errors in PMIP configurations is increasing as data from different sources is being merged in clinical systems. This should be of SERIOUS concern to laboratory directors and IT staff as the clinical validity of electronic reports are in question.
A new website has been launched which allows sites to check their PMIP configurations against consensus settings for units and READ codes. The data on the site covers about half the UK NHS labs. This data is approximately a year old but it is hoped to develop a full real-time audit feed covering all PMIP users in the near future.
To use the web site it is necessary to register and you will be given access to the data for your own PMIP messaging output if it is available.

The home page of the site contains some background analysis on the issues involved.
If you are not in the IT team or a laboratory director please draw the attention of approriate staff to the content of this email.
