IOM Information/Outreach Volunteer – Part-time
Purpose of the position
IOM is seeking to recruit volunteers to maintain contact with diaspora
communities across the UK and raise awareness of IOM UK’s assisted
voluntary return programmes. Outreach volunteers are required to support
the work of IOM in London & the South East, the Midlands, the North
East, the North West, Scotland, Wales & the South West.
* Organise and attend outreach meetings with diaspora groups within a
specific UK city to inform them on IOM’s assisted voluntary return
programmes in close consultation with the Outreach Coordinator and the
relevant IOM Head of Branch office.
* Keep and update a database of all contacts and potential ‘multipliers’
* Links with diaspora communities
* Interest in international/migration affairs
* Excellent communication skills
* Language skills (especially in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dari,
Gujurati, Hindi, Kurdish, Lingala, Pashto, Punjabi, Swahili, Tamil,
* Skills to work independently
This volunteer scheme encourages successful applicants to use their
strengths and gives them the opportunity to gain valuable experience
with genuine responsibility. Such a post would particularly suit recent
graduates who would like to enhance their CV by showing that they have
worked as outreach volunteer with the leading inter-governmental
organization in the field of migration with 450 offices worldwide.
we will welcome applications from interested candidates with the above
qualifications who are willing and able to commit to 20-30 hours per
month for a minimum of 3 months.

outreach volunteers is a rolling activity.
This is a volunteer position. Only local public transport expenses will
be paid. Lunch expenses up to £4 will be reimbursed if volunteering more
than five hours per day.
