Workshop in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics
30 November and 1 December 2010
Victoria University of Wellington (Kelburn campus)
<http://msor.victoria.ac.nz/Events/WWPMS2010/>
This year the workshop is organized in conjunction with Asia-Pacific
International Symposium on Advanced Reliability and Maintenance Modeling
(APARM 2010), 2-4 December 2010, also hosted by Victoria University
<http://msor.victoria.ac.nz/Events/APARM2010/>
Participation in both events is welcome.
There have been a number of expressions of interest and more are
expected in the coming two months. The Programme Committee is aiming to
form the Scientific Programme by the beginning of November. In
accordance with the established format of the Workshop, there will be no
contributed talks - all speakers will be invited. All will have 25
minutes for a talk.
As in 2009, relatively short, clear and focused presentations in
probability theory and mathematical statistics are welcome.
Presentations in applied problems are also welcome, provided they are
based on, or may lead to, interesting and novel mathematical models.
The style of the Workshop, and its organisation, again, will be
completely non-bureaucratic and straightforward. Instead, we will do all
we can to ensure the high quality of material, clarity and simplicity of
presentations. Although we do not suggest elementary presentations, the
basic idea should be made clear for good postgraduate students.
There will be no registration fee for academics, but participants are
expected to pay for themselves during the Workshop dinner (details to be
advised).
Please, forward expressions of interest, along with the title of the
proposed talk, to one of the
following addresses:

The deadline for receipt of the titles is 31 October 2010.
Regards,
The Programme Committee,
