Research Associate - University of Sheffield - Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Politics
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pro-active political scientist join the Department, conducting research as part of a multi-institution collaboration with the UK Transport Research Centre (UKTRC). This project is funded by ESRC, the Department for Transport/the Scottish Government.
You will analyse the changing patterns of multi-level governance and its relation to UK road transport policy, with specific regard to carbon emissions. This will be achieved through managing, collecting and analysing data, as well as disseminating findings.
You will have a strong background in qualitative research and data collection and analysis and a solid understanding of relevant political science concepts (e.g., multi-level governance, policy networks, accountability and legitimacy).
Applications will be particularly welcomed from candidates with an interest in either transport policy or environment policy.
Contract Type: Fixed Term from 1 November 2010 until 30 September 2012
Salary: Grade 7 £28,139 - £35,646 per annum
