Oh Tom, why is there a problem? Haven't you read yr Blake? God, alias Nobodaddy = Satan, tu ne trouves pas? (Sorry, I write from Montréal)
Though I do like the Irish-political casting. What shall we do with Cowen? Maybe a bit part, one of those "flown with insolence and wine" (those not au fait with this, just google "Brian Cowen" and "drunken interview" and all will be clear

Hmmm... he was Satan in Witches of Eastwick, so there's a problem there... at least I think so. Unfortunately George Burns is dead. Morgan Freeman (cf. *Hudsucker Proxy*)? God is so boring in PL that perhaps a cardboard cut-out will do... either Winston Churchill or, better, John Major? I do like the cardboard God-in-the-cloud in *MP and the Holy Grail*: "ARTHUR...!" Bertie Ahern could play Mammon and Charles Haughey Satan.
Q for the List: which work of English literature has the most interesting God (monotheistic deity) in it? Is there much of a choice? --Tom
