About the workshop:
The 3rd annual European workshop on Computer-Aided Qualitative Research 2010 will be held on the 7 & 8 October 2010 in Lisbon. This international workshop is co-organised by Lisbon University Institute and Merlien Institute. The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers, practitioners and trainers to discuss the key challenges and opportunities of advancing qualitative research using software tools.
Programme highlights:
This workshop will provide excellent opportunities for academics, practitoners and students to learn and network with international experts. The programme format will consist of workshops, submitted (reviewed) presentations, poster presentations and a brainstorming discussion. Presentation topics will include:
>Choosing the right software for qualitative research projects
>Comparing major qualitative software tools: strength and shortcomings
>Discovering ways of analysing open-ended questions using different software packages
>How to demonstrate and report the use of software tools in studies?
>Discussing the role of software for evaluating the quality of qualitative research
>Developing successful strategies for conducting qualitative research using software
>Commercial packages or open source: evaluating open-source CAQDAS software
>Triangulation of media data using different software: what are the implications for findings?
>Using computer-aided qualitative analysis software in phenomenological research
>Discussing future trends and developments of CAQDAS in qualitative research
