Before Taff Merthyr Colliery closed, the Royal Commission on the
Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales identified the mine's
principal surface features and recorded their function in detail.
Recording what actually happens at industrial sites and how they
operate is known as process recording. They have published the first
in a series of short accounts of the processes on their Heritage in
Wales blog. Go to http://heritageofwalesnews.blogspot.com/ for more
information.
