Hi Sarah (and all),
Thanks for your interest in VftL!
Voices for the Library is expanding, as we get more stories in from library workers and users.
We do have a story from a library assistant, Gareth: http://www.voicesforthelibrary.org.uk/wordpress/?page_id=219, and we hope to add more in the future. We don't have any stories from trained volunteers as yet - if you have any, please do get in touch!
May I also point out that the strapline is 'Promoting the need for and value of trained librarians within a free and open-to-all UK public library service' - trained, not professional. We had an internal debate about this, and decided that 'trained' better reflected the UK public library service, and the hard work and commitment from its staff at all levels.
We're delighted with the support we've been getting so far - and the more we can gather, the more we can demonstrate the value of libraries and librarians.
Bethan

I'm very encouraged Gary that you say that Voices for the Library aims to spread the word about the good work of all who work in public libraries. My one reservation about this otherwise very laudable initiative was that its strapline seems to imply that only professional librarians (and of course I speak as one myself) are delivering these fantastic services, with no reference to other staff and indeed volunteers.
