Dear colleagues,
more and more the publication of scientific results is not only limited
on single fulltext files.
Publications enriched with supplementary materials, like primary data,
simulations or visualizations provide more transparent research results.
The eco4r project (http://www.eco4r.org) - funded by German Research
Foundation and carried out by the North Rhine Westphalian Library Service
Center (hbz) and the University Library of Bielefeld - examines the
processing
and exposure of complex objects in living repositories.
The project aims to be a proof of existing concepts and standards (e.g.
OAI-ORE, METS) for the
exposure, exchangeability and reusability of compound objects within the
repository systems operated by the project partners.
Publications contained in the partner repository environments (Fedora
and OPUS) are a starting point of these investigations. Draft
recommendations and guidelines were derived from a contextual analysis
of these information units and are available for download as a draft
report on "Enhancing Interoperability between existing Open Access
Publication Infrastructures":
http://www.eco4r.org/workshop2010/downloads/eco4r_report_compoundobjects_draft.pdf
.
We would like to discuss early results with experts that are familiar
and experienced in one of the fields of modeling compound objects, metadata
standards and repository systems.
We are very pleased to invite you to attend the workshop which is
planned to
take place on Nov. 11th and 12th 2010 at the Library Service Center in
Cologne.
You can find the agenda and the registration form at the project
web-site: http://www.eco4r.org/workshop2010 .
Sincerely,
Jochen Schirrwagen & Anouar Boulal

Liebe Kollegen,
between existing Open Access Publication Infrastructures" zum Download
zur Verfügung:
http://www.eco4r.org/workshop2010/downloads/eco4r_report_compoundobjects_draft.pdf
.
- Modellierung komplexer Informationsobjekte, Metadatenstandards,
