English Language and Linguistics
French
German
Hispanic Studies
Italian
Philosophy
Religious Studies
The fellowship would be held within the School of European Culture and Languages at our Canterbury campus: http://www.kent.ac.uk/secl/index.html. The School contains 5 specialized research centres related to these subjects: http://www.kent.ac.uk/secl/researchcentres/index.html. Details of the School's research activities can be found at: http://www.kent.ac.uk/secl/researchevents/index.html
The British Academy has set out the application procedure for the Postdoctoral Fellowships at: http://www.britac.ac.uk/funding/guide/pdfells.cfm. A very high percentage of the more than 750 British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellows have followed academic careers. A full list can be found at: http://www.britac.ac.uk/funding/pdfdir/subjindex.cfm. There is stiff competition for these posts, but it should be noted that in the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship this year, the School secured two of the 75 fellowships awarded from 750 applications.
If you are interested in applying, please contact Prof. Ray Laurence ([log in to unmask]) no later than Monday 13 September 2010. Ray is the School’s Director of Research and is a former British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
