Hello,
I am trying to run a 3-Level Bayesian Hierarchical Model (with normal distributions used at each level) for a meta-analysis. I read this approach in a few papers and think it's a great idea. All 3 papers said that the model was estimated in BUGS using Gibbs Sampling.
None of the articles provided the conditional distributions of the parameters. One literally says, "From the model specification BUGS constructs the full conditional distributions and carries out the Gibbs sampling." I want to see the full conditional distributions (and their derivations, if possible) myself. I want to see the math behind the method.
Clearly the model is supported by BUGS and has been for years. I am new to BUGS. In general, is there a source where BUGS lists all the conditional distributions used in Gibbs sampling for supported models? It seems silly that information wouldn't be available anywhere, but I can't find it.
Thanks,
Mitch
