Post-Doctoral Research Fellow/Research Assistant in Biostatistics
Applications are sought for the post of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow or Research Assistant in the Biomedical and Clinical Proteomics Group, Leeds Cancer Research UK Centre within the Section of Oncology and Clinical Research, to provide biostatistical support to both laboratory-based and clinical investigations and to investigate and/or develop new methods of design and analysis for such investigations. The successful applicant will work closely with statisticians in the Section of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in LIMM.
You will have a strong quantitative background such as an MSc or PhD in statistics or epidemiology. The main role of the post is to support a number of projects investigating the relationship between the proteome and various clinical factors, with a primary focus on cancer and the identification of novel biomarkers.
For appointment at grade 7 you are expected to either have a PhD or be on the point of submission of one in a relevant subject and to make independent contributions to the methodological research.
The post will be available from September 1st 2010 for up 3 years (with a possibility of further funding)
University Grade 6 (£24,273 - £28,983 p.a.) or Grade 7 (£29,853 - £35,646 p.a.) Grade and salary offered is dependent upon qualifications and relevant research experience.
