In 2011 the Oral History Society’s annual conference will focus on Oral History and Regeneration. This is a particularly broad area but it is one that remains largely unexplored. The conference will welcome papers that focus on any of the many aspects of the process of regeneration and the role and impact of oral history within that. A number of these are listed in the Call for Papers (http://www.ohs.org.uk/viewnews.php?nlink=53) but others such as the connection between oral history and sustainability or regeneration in retrospective are equally important areas for discussion. More importantly, papers discussing projects that have involved oral history in the development or redevelopment of an area or a building but which have not necessarily been seen as or called ‘regeneration’ would also obviously provide a valuable contribution to the Conference.

The OHS are also particularly keen that the Conference includes local and community oral historians as well as those working in academia or in professional fields such as architecture and planning.
