Dear Med Soc News list member
Have you ever considered joining the British Sociological Association's (BSA) Medical Sociology Committee? Three places are available for enthusiastic medical sociologists keen to get more involved in the running of the committee, the discipline and the annual BSA Medical Sociology Conference.
The offer is open to anyone who is a member of the BSA (find out more about membership of the BSA at www.britsoc.co.uk/join<http://www.britsoc.co.uk/join>). The term of office would run from September 2010 for 2 years in the first instance, but is renewable for a further two years thereafter. Elections, if necessary, will take place at the Medical Sociology Group's Annual General Meeting on Thursday 2nd September at the 42nd Med Soc Annual Conference at Durham University.
The position involves attending 3 committee meetings per year plus the annual conference (travel and accommodation/registration expenses paid), helping to plan, organize, and review abstracts for the annual conference, contributing to medical sociology as a discipline, and supporting the MSo (Medical Sociology online) newsletter.
If you're interested visit www.britsoc.co.uk/medsoc<http://www.britsoc.co.uk/medsoc> and complete a nomination form.
Kind regards
Richard Compton
BSA Medical Sociology Group Committee
Co-convener
