I think public libraries UK should be making great use of apps.

For the public who use dictionaries, etymology, thesari, Rogets, etc. How
about the Android and iPhone apps to access the library subscriptions, it
needn't be anything complicated. The desktop gadgets as well -- Adobe Air,
Windows, Google etc. (Could open-source things as well so that the public
themselves can do the developing in these cash strapped days.)
I know World Cat[1] and Axiel[2] are developing mobile library apps, however
what other library apps at library authority level would be useful to the
public that the authority serves?
