italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Hello all,
I found it hard to believe that nobody listed Dante as a "key" writer
of pre-19th century Italy! The original inquiry does not specify prose
writers, although most have responded with names of prose writers. If
poets are also permitted, then Dante and Leopardi would certainly have
to be considered "key" ( a word I detest!).
If women writers are what Dr. Carroli was inquiring about, then the
responses to date are not relevant since not one woman was mentioned.
