Hi -
I upgraded our Site BDII (epgr09.ph.bham.ac.uk) to SL5 earlier this week.
It all worked out the box at first, but then gridpp nagios returned an
error:
org.bdii.Entries CRITICAL: ldap_simple_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server
(as an aside, is it possible to provide direct links to nagios
information?)
I've checked /var/log/messages and /var/log/bdii/bdii-update.log and there
is nothing of note. I checked the bdii service, and it was still running.
An ldap query failed to bind.
I rebooted the machine. This must have fixed something, because I was
(and still am) able to ldap query the machine directly.
Querying lcg-bdii.gridpp.ac.uk, I can see lots of information about
Birmingham nodes. However, querying lcg-bdii.cern.ch, I fail to get
back anything meaningful about Birmingham.
In addition, we've dropped off the http://gstat-prod.cern.ch and
http://gridmap.cern.ch maps. If I try and force the link to Birmingham on
gstat:
http://gstat-prod.cern.ch/gstat/site/UKI-SOUTHGRID-BHAM-HEP/
I get no meaningful information.
How can I find out more about this problem?
Cheers,
Chris
