The workshop is aimed at records or information management professionals that are looking to use SharePoint 2007 or 2010 for Records Management and want to understand the product's strengths and weaknesses in this area. The day will provide an unbiased overview of SharePoint and the principal areas of improvement between SharePoint 2007 & 2010, as well as focusing on the potential pitfalls and detail of implementing the product.
The following areas will be covered in detail:
- Detailed functional areas of RM – metadata, taxonomies, workflows, content types, the record centre etc
- SharePoint & RM standards – how does it measure up?
- Development opportunities and areas of caution
- Skills needed for information professionals to get involved in a SharePoint implementation
- Is the SharePoint 2010 platform as exciting as the hype suggests?
- Key concepts and functions
