Hi all,
I couldn't remember if these lists are still open for stats advice, apologies if not.
For my thesis I am looking to conduct an ANCOVA in order to investigate if my treatment still has an effect on my DV once a covariate is controlled for. The covariate I am looking at it is a difference score (post-pre treatment) on a different variable from the DV.
I was just wondering if you could give me any advice on whether using a difference score as a covariate is acceptable? From reading around I can see it may be a problem when the DV is the pretest score but I was just wondering if it may still be a problem if the covariate and DV are different variables? It is a repeated measures Ancova if that helps/adds to the confusion!
Any help would be grately appreciated
many thanks,
Andrew
