In past employment I have met many individuals who have complained that
safety glassess affect their sight - I think that this is probably right
- its hard to see anything through filthy, scratched lenses.....(tongue
firmly in cheek)
The issue generally is that they dont like them and they get chucked
about, left in locker rooms etc. If they are dirty/scratched etc people
could experience visual fatigue by the end of the day - but not aware of
any measurable detoriation in sight

I wonder why the manager is asking the Q? Is one of their employees
claiming
their eyesight has deteriorated due to wearing such PPE? If so they
should
be reminded that the risk of not wearing PPE is unacceptable in a high
risk
environment.
Obviously they should come from a reputable supplier, be in a good
condition
and be comfortable and fit, they should have prescription lenses in them
if
the person wears glasses (specsavers provide this) and dark glasses
should
be offered for use when sunny particularly for people required to look
in
one direction all day (like banksmen on a construction site).
Providing hard hats with integral eye protection keeps the eye
protection
on the head and does not get lost or scratched.
