Dear All
I didn't want to write about this news in the e-news, as I wanted to add my
personal plea.
The EYFS, introduced in Sept 2008 is under review. The Coalition Government
has indicated it would like to slim down the EYFS. They are particularly
keen to address the issue they perceive of childminders not being able to
cope with a professional framework.
The current review is out for consultation until 30th Sept and is welcoming
feedback from anyone using the EYFS.

For my part, I shall be writing in support of it as a curriculum based on
research and with a sound set of pedagogical principles. Nothing is perfect,
and there have been issues with people coming to grips with what is an
extensive piece of thinking, but I believe that as a society we all deserve
the best start in life and I see little to argue with in the principles of
the EYFS.
If you have used the EYFS and found it as useful as I have, please consider
contributing to the consultation.
Best
Jo
