Dear All,
Currently, I am in the process of writing a dissertation which examines representations of gender and disability in Lusophone literature.
I am contacting you in hopes of obtaining either a.) a copy of Tom Compton's unpublished manuscript "A Brief History of Disability" (Berkeley, 1989), or, alternately, b.) some form of contact information for Mr. Compton himself which might enable me to request a copy of the manuscript from him directly.
From what I have been able to ascertain, the only scholar who has access to Compton's piece (or at least the only person who has ever cited it in any published work) is Dr. Rosmarie Garland-Thomson. I have contacted her office directly (twice) but she is a bit difficult to get ahold of, due to her understandably busy schedule.
If you are in any way able to assist me in obtaining a copy of "A Brief History of Disability," I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you for your time and consideration in reviewing my message.
Respectfully,
Valéria M. Souza
