Dear Deborah,
Referring to your message: "I was thinking about coming to the meeting at the BPS office in October to discuss the CP section as I work reasonably nearby and would be interested to see how such bureaucratic procedures work (and of course am devoted to advancing Community Psychology). Are we going to adopt any kind of collective strategy for this meeting or just turn up and put in our individual two pennies worth?"
I don't know if you are a BPS member who expressed interest in the section. If so you should have received the following message. If not you wont have. Same for other list folk of course. Either way you will see that: a) there is already an agenda (items set I presume by the BPS) - assuming it will be chaired rigorously you would have to give your 'two pennies worth" under a particular agenda item ... though you could pose any issue as a question under item 7 . . . and b) places are limited so it would NOT be a good idea to turn up on the day.(continued below pasted in email)

There has been little discussion on this list about the Section since the 'vote' on fee but I am aware that other discussions are going on off list. Making any collective decision on the list has proved challenging so far so i imagine developing and adopting a collective strategy re the Section will be at least as challenging, especially as there seem to be sub groups of us taking rather different lines.
My own view is that developing a community psychology collective which is inclusive irrespective of credential and ability to pay and ideologically radical in relation to community psychology which could lobby with some collective force re decisions BPS Section members make and hold Section members to account regarding what they do and don't do is a priority

Subject: october meeting
Dear All
I was thinking about coming to the meeting at the BPS office in October to
discuss the CP section as I work reasonably nearby and would be interested
to see how such bureaucratic proceedures work (and of course am devoted to
advancing Community Psychology). Are we going to adopt any kind of
collective strategy for this meeting or just turn up and put in our
individual two pennies worth?
Deborah
