Dear All,
I have received the following that you may find of interest, particularly those
of you based in the UK - but not only.
Cheers

Subject: coalition of reistance statement
To: undisclosed recipients@
Dear colleagues and friends
Apologies for the anonymous group email, but you are all past or present
professional colleagues/acquaintances. A Coalition of Resistance has been
launched by Tony Benn and Caroline Lucas and 71 other signatories. This is a
very serious political initiative which we hope will swell into a mass movement
against the cuts and privatisation, in defence of the welfare state, and for an
alternative economic future.
I'm hoping a good number of archaeologists and academics will sign. Please
consider signing yourselves (how to do so is clear on the attached document),
forward to others, and think about registering for the 27 November conference
and perhaps getting active in other ways.
If there are folks interested in some sort of specifically archaeological
initiative - Archaeologists Against the Cuts? - Archaeologists for a Future? -
I'd be delighted to hear.
All the best, Neil
