Dear Colleagues,
I'm looking for academic works that deal with the study of the circus or carnivales (in the sense of travelling funfairs). I'd appreciate if someone could point me toward scholarly articles or books that relate to any aspect of these events, but particularly that of performance art and history of this form of entertainment. I realise this is not directly relevant to this list but perhaps there is some reference in the literature to sleight of hand magic/conjuring as distinct from the esoteric practices and systems of magic.
With Best Wishes,
Jenny Butler
