University Records Manager and Freedom of Information Officer
£38,849 to £45,974 pa incl LW
We are seeking a suitably qualified individual to manage the control system for the central University records. The post holder will ensure compliance with information legislation requirements, including Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Environmental Regulations. Another aspect of the role will be to supervise and support a Records Management Assistant (part-time) in the day-to-day running of this system and to devise and maintain a system of control for the electronic records of the central departments.
You will have excellent professional experience in a records management role, supported by previous experience of working with database packages. In addition, you will possess an excellent working knowledge of the law relating to Freedom of Information and Data Protection.
Combining good communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to deal with individuals at all levels of management. Aptitude to assess and understand training needs and to deliver training at all levels is required. A postgraduate qualification in records management or the equivalent experience is essential, as is a good working knowledge of standard IT applications.
