I quite often use ExifTool by Phil Harvey -
http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
The Windows executable works well for batch processing multiple files by
dragging and dropping - the following outputs 'sidecar' XMP files (XML
format) which can then be processed using XSLT - exiftool(-k -o
%d%f.xmp).exe - there are lots of other options though.
