Dear all,
Dear ,
I am an MSc student in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at Oxford University. I am writing to know if you could help me with the recruitment of participants in my dissertation research.
I am currently in midst of completing my degree dissertation which is about Chinese Character learning strategies. I'm looking for ADULT learners of Chinese at various proficiency levels as my participants. I have put an on-line survey at
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FreeCharacterTest
I have enclosed a copy of the invitation letter to my participants. I was wondering if you could kindly forward the following email to the students who are learning Chinese language at your department. The test will be available till 5th Aug. Due to the quantitative nature of my study, I really need as many participants as possible. Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information. Your cooperation is highly appreciated and I very much look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Yu Chen

Subject: Free Chinese Character Test-need your help!
Dear Students,
You are invited to take a on-line survey about learning Mandarin.
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FreeCharacterTest
The survey contains two parts: a Chinese character test and a Character Learning Strategies Inventory. It will take you approximately 30 minutes. This study is a part of an Msc dissertation of a student in the Department of Education, University of Oxford. It aims to investigate various learning strategies learners develop to cope with Chinese characters learning. This research has been granted approval by the Department Research Ethics (DREC) and Oxford’s Central University Research Ethics Committee (CUREC). I very much understand that the test seems quite long. Nevertheless, according to those who complete the whole the survey, it does provide you with some useful reflection on your learning way.
Please feel free to contact the researcher at [log in to unmask] . Your inquiries are most welcome.
Kind Regards,
Yu Chen
