Far from it, I feel 'this observation' is an isolated voice and should
be treated with the contempt it deserves. I would at least have expected
some empirical evidence to back the claim, not just anecdote. For
goodness sake, we're supposed to be cultivating an evidenced-based
environment in our health service, not one based on ill-informed
comments.
One issue that it does raise is that of professional courtesy. I thought
we were all part of a multi-disciplinary Team NHS, obviously not, when
one profession rounds like this on another. So much for solidarity or am
I just naive!!!
Sorry for the tone of this response, it's just that I read the post on
the Treasury site and am seething into my tea!!!

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a
dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle
ground between light and shadow - between science and superstition. And
it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.
This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call The
Twilight Zone".

Dear all,
Before we descend into ad hominem attacks, we do need to take this
observation seriously. If it is true, it is a scandalous waste of public
money. An overstaffed or underemployed facility will do us no favours.
It is also a useful indication of how we are perceived. Unfortunately
the work we do at the higher end of the value chain is less visible.
Kind regards,

We need to find him/her and show them how helpful the library staff
could be if approached. Or maybe put a comment about the fact that many
locum doctors seem to spend vast amounts of time lounging in the library
reading the paper while getting paid vast amounts of money?
