Congratulations on your JISC project. Apologies for missing you on the phone recently. I hope it is going well, I have just had a brief email conversation with your colleague from QMU so things are obviously happening! Please email me if you need some specific input.
It is a shame that you can't make the next SIG but I will let people know about the project - let me have some brief info if it is easy?

Subject: [Fwd: Re: WebPA and VLE integration]
I have appended a message I sent to this list earlier this month which I
think has gone astray.
Since then, I have heard that JISC will be funding our bid under the
Distributed VLE call. This project is named "ceLTIc" (Creating
Environments for Learning with Tightly Integrated Components) and WebPA
is proposed as one of its case studies for how the IMS LTI specification
might be extended to make better connections between tools and VLEs.
The partners on this bid are The University of Edinburgh, University of
Stirling, Queen Margaret University, IMS, Blackboard, Learning Objects
and Pebble Learning. Funding is due to commence next month and I will
communicate again with this list once it gets underway, but we would
welcome contributions from those using WebPA. The ultimate goal is that
LTI should provide a standard mechanism for making all the required
connections between tools and VLEs and so adding LTI support to a tool
will enable it to be integrated with any VLE. This makes it easier for
developers as well as for those thinking of changing their VLE!
Unfortunately I shall be unable to attend the next SIG meeting on July 8.
The University of Edinburgh is a charitable body, registered in
Scotland, with registration number SC005336.

I reported to this list a few months ago that I have written an initial
implementation of BasicLTI for WebPA which would allow a single sign-on
from virtually any VLE (most now provide support for Basic LTI including
Blackboard, WebCT, and, I believe, both Moodle 1.9 and 2). This does
not yet include a synchronisation of enrolments (it currently creates a
user account when they first connect) but I am hoping to add this
functionality over the summer. I will inform this list as this
develops. I am currently waiting for the new version of WebPA to be
released (see the email from Nicola Wilkinson on 1 April) before making
the current BasicLTI code available in some format. Does anyone know
when the new version will be formally released?
For more information on the IMS BasicLTI specification see:
