Project:
A four year project of the Global Environment Facility, implemented
through UNDP, and supporting the Orange-Senqu River Commission in
southern Africa was recently launched. The Project involves consensus
building within an informed debate around water resources management
issues. Establishing an effective two-way communication is vital to
the overall success, the Project therefore wishes to draft a Public
Participation and Communications Plan. We are searching for a science
communications specialist who would like to conceptualise the science
communications part of this Plan.

Concerned project:
UNDP-GEF Development and Adaption of a Strategic Action Programme for
Balancing Water Uses and Sustainable Natural Resources Management in
the Orange-Senqu River Basin–ORASECOM Project.
Assignment:
One senior international/regional consultant, covering science
communication issues, 15 person days.
Duty station:
Home offices of the consultants and ORASECOM Secretariat, Pretoria,
South Africa.
Time line:
Public Participation and Communications Plan and other related
deliverables to be completed by mid September 2010.
