Dear SUPER-OER people,
I've just been distracted from what I should be doing by a message which you might find interesting (on several levels). Martin Weller (OU) and Frank Rennie (UHI) have just completed their SIDECAP OER project (developing world rather than UK OER) and have published a book version of the project report to celebrate. It's called 'Open to all: Designing Digital Courses using Open Educational Resources' and you can preview it or order it at http://www.blurb.com/books/1267854.
Martin talks about the merits of publishing project reports as attractive books in his blog http://nogoodreason.typepad.co.uk/no_good_reason/2010/05/project-report-as-coffee-table-book.html - which you might find a topical discussion to comment on. (Congrats on your project reports by the way).
I'm also (in a two-for-one deal) sending this message to a new JISCMAIL list which SCORE/OLnet recently set up for OER discussions/information dissemination. You can register at www.jiscmail.ac.uk/opened<http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/opened> (OpenEd being as near as we could get to OER in this case - and 'opened' sort of made sense too). This list is self-registration so easy to join. We hope that many of you will join, but also hope to attract others from beyond UK OER. So, if you have an event, report, idea or other news to share around OER please post there as well as within the OER-INST, OER-INDIV and OER-SUPER lists.
Thanks.
Chris
