I was hoping museum digi people would be leaning towards thinking about their data [more holistically] in future, rather than being very platform-specific and concentrating only on websites...

You'd hope so, but it still seems pretty rare! Maybe because funding
websites isn't as sexy as funding development for a shiny mobile device,
or maybe mobile apps are funded as marketing rather than content
development, or it's not seen as core content - who knows.
