Dear Ms Peck,

it is very irritating that RSC recycles a journal name already in use.
Chemical Science, http://www.rsc.org/chemicalscience, was operated as a
news service and virtual journal since vol. 1.2004.

From our present Electronic Journals Library entry:

"Chemical Science is a news service drawing together coverage from all
RSC publications.
Published monthly, Chemical Science is freely available online and as a
free supplement in the print issues of the following RSC journals:
Chemical Communications, Dalton Transactions, Journal of Materials
Chemistry, Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, Physical Chemistry Chemical
Physics, Chemical Society Reviews, New Journal of Chemistry and Journal
of Environmental Monitoring.

Free online access is provided to any journal articles that have been
highlighted in Chemical Science, for a limited time.

A separate print subscription is also available."

That publication's URL now gets redirected to
http://www.rsc.org/Publishing/Journals/SC/Index.asp

and apparently the former issues of Chemical Science (E-ISSN 1742-2183,
P-ISSN 1478-6524) are now named Highlights in Chemical Science. Has RSC
Never heard of stable URLs? Does it believe it is a good idea to change
a title name retrospectively and to launch a new journal (p-ISSN
2041-6520, e-ISSN 2041-6539) under the old name?

Very confusing and NOT a good idea. The same has apparently also
occurred for Chemical Biology (now Highlights in Chemical Biology) and
Chemical Technology (now Highlights in Chemical Technology).
