Given the current situation in the Gulf of Mexico, don't forget
Robert Flaherty's LOUISIANA STORY (1948) sponsored by Standard Oil
and harmoniously reconciling capitalist industrial exploitation and
the charming traditional life of rural folk. Ahh, propaganda....
I don't know what they're planning to show at the Flaherty Seminar
this summer, but screening this "classic" seems like a no brainer
tribute to Flaherty's politics.
