meh... sour grapes on my part when the peanuts are such that my teenage daughter effectively earns more than I do as bar staff. And yup, I am actually considering jacking it in and getting some work that actually remunerates me rather than swings me into debt.

I don't think any individual was 'pilloried' but given that they were instructed to post on an open forum with the aim of receiving 'mentoring' and feedback, well that's what they got.
and yes, if they stay and respond to the critiques then they will end up as part of the forum, but as it is I get paid flipping peanuts for teaching my own students, I'm little inclined to take on the role of an unpaid lecturer for other students.
Which is why, in my original response I said that Dr Neuville has an ace idea. set the assignment and get others to do the teaching and give feedback. Genius!

Should we not provide clarity in advice and guidance to these students who are presumably still members of this email forum and joined in order to further their education? Should we not be striving to help that education by "correcting" their mistakes with positive instruction?
Simply pillorying them for their ignorance [the word used in its true meaning as in 'lack of knowledge'] is hardly in keeping with a list name of "disability research".
John
