'This is no doomsday pursuit. HFP is convinced that scientific and
technological advancement, as well as increased understanding from the
social sciences, can readily offset or mitigate many of the crisis
threats we face.'
That may or may not be true, and is really just a belief system.
However, I do know that such an attitude means the organisation believes
the reproduction of this industrial order, and the philosophies and
values which underpin it, is a good thing. I do not share those beliefs,
and want to focus on work which looks to change the dominant values and
belief systems which characterise our social systems in the west. So
thanks, but not thanks.
