If anyone is interested, we are having a little presentation of the final results of the investigations into the remains of Eadgyth (Saxon princess, half sister of Althelstan, died in Magdeburg in 946) , excavated in Magdeburg cathedral in 2008. The German team will be in Bristol on 17th June (this Thursday), and we (Bristol and Magdeburg) will be presenting from around 2 - 4.30. It is free to attend, but could you drop me a email if you want to attend. Location Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, 43 Woodland Road, Bristol.
While I cannot spill the beans (the news is embargoed until Thursday) there will be lots of information about the burial, its identification, the silks in the coffin, other organic stuff found with the burial. etc.
Britarchers are very welcome to come along!
