Applicants are invited for the position of KTP Research Associate in the School of Business & Economics at Swansea University. The post-holder will undertake research on various methods for the analysis of large samples of automotive component failure data, undertake a detailed comparison of these approaches, and advise on the implementation of optimal methods in a practical setting. This research will follow a programme developed with We Predict, a local SME, and the majority of the work will be carried out at their offices.
Applicants should possess a good (2:1 or higher) Bachelor's degree with a substantial Mathematical or Statistical component, have good project & time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, an awareness of business imperatives, and the enthusiasm and ability to communicate with colleagues, project principals, and new & existing customers.
The Associate will also follow a study programme associated with the KTP, is expected to pursue formally other CPD opportunities available within this partnership (supported by a further training budget of approximately £2000 per annum), and, where appropriate, will be encouraged to register for an MPhil within the School of Business & Economics.
